Mustafi's replacement gets Mustafi's number!

Manchester City loaned five first team players on Transfer Deadline Day, and one of them already has a number at his new team.

As soon as he arrived at Valencia on a season-long loan deal, Eliaquim Mangala was already assigned a shirt number for this campaign:

Mangala was brought in as a replacement to Shkodran Mustafi, who left Valencia to join Arsenal this week, and the Frenchman gets Mustafi's old number as well, which clearly shows Eliaquim will be an integral part of Valencia's defense alongside the great Ezequiel Garay, also brought in by the Spanish side on deadline day to form a powerful pairing in the center of the defense with Mangala.

Despite his poor performances for City after arriving from FC Porto on a £40 million deal, Mangala displayed good qualities that will make him a good option for Valencia. He isn't technical enough to play Pep Guardiola's style, but he's a solid defender and will play with a world-class center-back, which helps him.

Good luck, Mangala!

This is truly beautiful, heartfelt, and sad. Thank you, Joe.

If the arrival of Pep Guardiola brought a lot of excitement to Manchester City fans, it also caused a very sad moment when we learned that Joe Hart was not a part of the Catalan coach's plans, and the goalkeeper was going to move away from the club after a decade of services.

On Wednesday we learned that Hart joined Serie A side Torino on loan, an interesting move that will certainly keep Joe active as he hopes to remain in the England squad now that Sam Allardyce has taken over. Hart is certainly very excited about the new chapter in his career, but he did take a moment to thank the club he has been playing at for the last ten years.

Joe Hart wrote a farewell letter on his Facebook page, and it is simply spectacular. If this doesn't make you emotional, then you're either not a City fan or a human being. I'm sorry.

Every single move made by the Citizens this summer, in one place!

The summer of 2016 will probably be one of the craziest periods in Manchester City history. The club changed badges, brought one of the best and most polarizing managers ever and made a boatload of moves in the transfer market.

Pep Guardiola's arrival certainly had a gigantic impact on the club. He wanted players to join, but he also wanted some to leave, and that sparked an insane amount of transfers that are almost impossible to keep track of.

Thankfully the internet exists, and the good folks at Manchester Evening News made a list of all the moves made by City since July until Deadline Day on Wednesday. This list doesn't include transfers to players in the young teams in the Academy, only players on the first team and some EDS prospects that left on loan. Here's the full list:

INS: Claudio Bravo (Barcelona), Ilkay Gundogan (Borussia Dortmund), Gabriel Jesus (Palmeiras), Marlos Moreno (Atletico Nacional), Nolito (Celta Vigo), Leroy Sane (Schalke), John Stones (Everton), Oleksandr Zinchenko (FC Ufa), Geronimo Rulli (Deportivo Maldonado)

OUTS: Thomas Agyepong (NAC Breda, loan), Brandon Barker (NAC Breda, loan), Wilfried Bony (Stoke, loan), Kean Bryan (Bury, loan), Jack Byrne (Blackburn, loan), Sinan Bytyqi (Go Ahead Eagles, loan) Bersant Celina (FC Twente, loan), Martin Demichelis (released), Jason Denayer (Sunderland, loan), Shay Facey (Heerenveen, loan) David Faupala (NAC Breda, loan), Seko Fofana (Udinese), Manu Garcia (Deportivo, loan), George Glendon (Fleetwood, loan), Joe Hart (Torino, loan), Eliaquim Mangala (Valencia, loan), Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield, loan), Samir Nasri (Sevilla, loan), Ashley Smith-Brown (NAC Breda, loan), Enes Unal (FC Twente, loan), Richard Wright (released), Yaw Yeboah (FC Twente, loan) Oleksandr Zinchenko (PSV, loan), Bruno Zuculini (Rayo Vallecano, loan), Geronimo Rulli (Real Sociedad, loan), Marlos Moreno (Deportivo La Coruña, loan)

Jason Denayer has joined Sunderland and will play on loan for the Black Cats this season. The Belgian center-back was set to sign for Galatasaray on Tuesday, but City blocked the move and agreed to a deal with David Moyes' side, since the Sky Blues wanted Denayer to play in a competitive league before joining the squad next season.

Pep Guardiola saw good things on the youngster during preseason, but after discovering Aleksandar Kolarov's talents at center-back, along with the signing of John Stones, the Catalan coach did not have any place for Denayer on defense and thought it was better for Jason to play elsewhere for the season to gain more experience and play regularly for his new side. Sunderland will provide good minutes for him, and it's a win-win situation for everyone.

Good luck, Denayer!

Another loan? Why not!

Manchester City business might not be done in this transfer deadline day.

After sending four players out on loan (Hart, Mangala, Nasri, Bony), the Citizens are still working on finding a new club for defender Jason Denayer, who is not on Pep Guardiola's plans for this season. After blocking a move to Galatasaray in Turkey because they want Denayer to play in a more competitive league, the Citizens are close to finding a Premier League destination to the Belgian international.

David Moyes is desperate to strengthen the Black Cats before the deadline to avoid another relegation battle this season, and after signing quite a few players from Manchester United, Moyes is now looking to the Blue side, and Denayer would be certainly a good addition to his side.

There are very few hours left in the window, so this has to be done quickly.

Eliaquim Mangala, perhaps one of the worst signings in recent memory, has been loaned out to Valencia for the season. After signing from FC Porto for £40 million, the Frenchman never did anything to justify that price tag, and was out of Pep Guardiola's plans before the Catalan manager even arrived at the club.

The 25-year-old is the replacement to Shkodran Mustafi, who left Sevilla to join Arsenal in the Premier League, and Mangala was the best available option (at least in Valencia's eyes). Mangala is the second City player loaned out to a La Liga side today, with Samir Nasri joining Sevilla for the season. The other two players loaned are Joe Hart (Torino) and Wilfried Bony (Stoke City).

Good luck, Mangala! Thanks for almost nothing!

Bony failed to impress at City after being signed from Swansea City for £25 million back in 2016. Pep Guardiola came into the team and made clear that Wilfried was not part of his plans, and plenty of teams showed interest in taking Bony on loan for the season.

West Ham United looked likely a week ago, but after Stoke came in and offered Bony the chance to start for the Potters, he made up his mind and decided to join Mark Hughes' side. Bony's new manager spoke about his new signing:

“Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for us to be perfectly honest, because he knows the Premier League and has scored plenty of goals at this level.

“He has power, speed and very good physical attributes which will undoubtedly help us, and his technical and finishing skills are outstanding too.

“Eighteen months ago he was being bought for a hugely significant amount of money, so we know that we are bringing in a top quality striker.

“Everybody is aware of Wilfried and what he is capable of, and it was no surprise that one of the bigger clubs came in for him on the back of his performances for Swansea - the only surprise has been that he didn’t enjoy the success with Manchester City that we all thought he would.”
