One bonus of the international week is it does give those of us with more than a passing interest in the numbers side of the game a little downtime to dig around some more.
One area myself and shuddertothink were tossing around was the idea of shot influence: that is the impact an individual player has on a team's overall shot numbers. I've looked at City's games for the season to date and recorded the details for each shot City have had in terms of who had the shot and who assisted on it.
Here are the numbers for the win over Everton plus the season totals to date. Note that the 'Shots on pitch for' ensures that we only take into account the shots that an individual player was on the pitch for, meaning that they are not penalised for when they are injured or on the bench.
