Everton v Manchester City: Gut Feelings

How Our Team See Wednesday’s Match

With the Club World Cup now safely in their possession, Manchester City travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. The Toffees haven’t had a bad season, despite being docked ten points for FFP breaches, while the blues sit eight points behind leaders Liverpool, but have two games in hand.

Will City close the gap with victory on the blue half of Merseyside, or will Everton give their rivals a Christmas boost?

As always, our team are here with their gut feelings and predictions for Wednesday’s match.

Saul

Good match to return to after becoming world champs! Will be tricky but I’m expecting a fresher squad and some good vibes. 2-0 Win.

Everton 0-2 City

Dillon

This is gonna be a difficult fixture. The Goodison crowd is gonna be HYPED. Fortunately, Dyche has never been particularly successful against Pep, but this Everton squad is far better than any of the Burnley teams he’s had in the past. As long as Stones and Rodri play I suspect the build-up will be fine. The club will hopefully be revitalised after a mid-season trophy win and it should give a needed morale boost.

Everton 0-3 Manchester City

Craig

I think City will come back from a much-needed change of scenery ready to get back to winning ways, but Everton should not be underestimated.

Everton 1-2 City

Pete

This could potentially be a very difficult game for City. Both need the points for very different reasons, but this could also be a bit of a grudge match. Everton were docked points for FFP breaches yet City’s case is still to be heard, and those who don’t understand why (everyone outside Manchester City), may see this as a point to make.

City have a good record though, at Everton, and I can see this continuing on Wednesday. But not without conceding though.

Everton 2-3 City

What Happened Last Time?

Yeah, what did happen last time? It was so long ago that we’ve forgotten. Oh yeah, Palace. Some idiot went for a 5-0, while Thomas went for a very reserved 3-0. Yep, we’re pretty crap at this predicting lark. Therefore, the table hasn’t changed and Saul continues to storm away at the top.
