Manchester City travels to Switzerland to face YB. The club will be away in the UCL and we had Pep Guardiola’s customary presser as he touched on a wide variety of articles.
On to the big points-
On Young Boys FC
“[Young Boys are] such an aggressive team. They don’t sit deep. They are a really tall and physical team, link really well with the strikers and the two or three.
“They are so strong, they attack the channels really good, especially on the left side and the final third, a lot of players in the box.
“They can play with four or five at the back, usually play four. We have to read immediately what they do to adapt offensively and defensively.
“In this stadium, I know from the information I have the people support them a lot really well in this stadium. It will be a tough game.”
On Grealish
“I don’t have not one second, piece or doubt about Jack and his quality and what he has done for us since he arrived two years ago, and especially last season,” Guardiola declared.
“It’s difficult when in your first season you don’t play all the games and then in the second, he played a lot, not just in the Champions League but the Treble.
“He was decisive and gave us something unique - the power, strength, mentality.
“It is what it is, but in previous seasons we played with Phil, Raheem or whatever. It is what it is but I am fully calm and confident that Jack is an incredibly important player for us.
“We have to get the rhythm in training and the minutes he has. But he will get it because of the amount of games [we are involved in].”
Very interesting stuff. Let;s hope for a clean win and no injuries.
