Khajida Shaw was a happy bunny on Wednesday night as her first hat-trick in Manchester City blue helped the blues secured their place in the FA Cup semi-final.
The girls in blue scored 6 second half goals, with Bunny helping hersef to 3 of them, and after the match, the Jamaican expressed her delight at bagging her first treble.
“It’s a wonderful feeling,” she said. “It’s always good to score goals and help the team. I’m here to help the team in any way possible. I’m here to win trophies and you have to win games first and foremost.”
The treble was the striker’s first goals since City’s opening day victory at Everton, and ended a difficult period for the blues, who had only scored once in the three matches following that win.
“It’s one of the things I’ve been trying to work on, getting in the right positions and timing it right for when the ball comes. When you practice and it happens on the pitch, you’re happy because it’s something you’ve practiced before.
“I have to give my team credit because they played me some wonderful balls. It’s a team effort. I’m scoring the goals but if it wasn’t for my team, it wouldn’t be possible.
“As long as I’m getting the balls in the right positions to help the team, you can see more.”
Hopefully, Bunny will bring her shooting boots with her on Sunday, when West Ham arrive at the Academy Stadium.
