A solid opener, but City come up short.

Manchester City lost a tough match with a heavily rotated squad v Leicester in the Community Shield match.

Playing with only three regular starters City held up admirably and despite few chances created could have won this one outright.

Credit to Leicester who played well enough for a win as former Blue Kelechi Iheanacho scored the decisive goal. Patson Daka was also really good for the opponents. It should be a wake up call to Man City and Pep Guardiola.

A frustrating and chaotic loss, but we move.

On to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

‘I would have loved to have won the game. Congratulations to Leicester for the Community Shield victory. The performance was really really good, especially for this stage of the season and the way we played in the second half.’

We will try our best, knowing we will not be at our best. It happened last season at Wolves and we lost 2-5 at home to LCFC at home in the PL. We know we will not be at our best. (For Spurs)

He was good [Grealish]. Really good. He was aggressive against the full backs. He will get to know his mates and step by step he will find his best.
