The most beautiful time of year is nearly over!
We are here at deadline day and Manchester City has seen many players exit and none arrive.
Let’s recap some notable departures both unofficial and official.
Tommy Doyle Joins Hamburger
This was confirmed today as the midfielder leaves in search of playing time in the second division of German football. The deal will have Doyle spend the remainder of the 2021/22 season on loan with German side Hamburger SV. Best of luck, Tommy!
Claudio Gomes Join Barnsley
Claudio Gomes has joined Barnsley on loan from Man, City, confirms Fabrizio Romano as the City d-mid decides to ply his trade in the Championship. The move should suit him well as they are battling for promotion and would be a welcome add to Barnsley.
Yangel Herrera Joins Espanyol
Yangel Herrera has joined Espanyol on a season-long loan from Man City. There is no option to buy. That according to Fab Romano who is on fire with transfers today. The move is interesting because with no buy clause that suggests to me that City want him back next season when he could potentially qualify for the UK’s strict work visa approval.
Pablo Moreno Joins Girona
Pablo Moreno has joined Girona on a season-long loan from. A CFG special is here as the player joins sister club in Spain.
Erik Palmer-Brown Joins ESTAC Troyes
Another intra-CFG move though this one is permanent as the center back joins City’s sister club in France. A good move as he looks for playing time to enter his national team.
Other speculation
-Patrick Roberts seems to be headed for the exit door as up to 10 teams vie for his services. Recent reports are it probably will be ESTAC Troyes.
-Nuno Mendes was in the news as he is close to signing for PSG. City had first crack at him for a whopping €40M which is considerably less than asking price before.
-Despite speculation it seems both Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva will stay at the club. Great news for fans as they are key to Pep Guardiola’s side.
