Vicky Losada could not be more excited to get this season underway. The Spanish star is looking forward to the Real Madrid match as the women kick off play soon.
Let’s see what she had to say-
“I’m very excited. I can’t wait!” she smiled, joking: “I don’t like the white kit too much!
“It’s exciting for me to start the season against Real Madrid – a Spanish team that I’ve been watching from the other side for my whole life!
“A goal would be nice! If someone offered me my first City goal against Real Madrid, where do I sign?!
“It’s going to be a very good game for women’s football – a great game for people to watch and to be shown on television.
“We are very focused on the game. It’s important to start well this season to gain more confidence to achieve our goals this year.
“It’s my personal opinion but I think this team can win the Champions League.”
Having defeated Real 4-0 and 4-1 in last season’s Primera Division success, Losada is familiar with City’s opponents, who only launched as a team in July 2020.
The midfielder admits that while the Real squad boast talented players, it takes time for a new team to gel and feels her new Club’s experience will shine through.
“People might think that because of the name, it’s an experienced team but it’s not,” she explained.
“This is only their second year in the Spanish league. The girls are still trying to know each other.
“They have very good, talented players but the experience we have – to have reached the quarter-finals last season and the semi-finals previously – is good.
“It takes time to build a team but one of things I noticed here is how well the team know each other.
“We have to take that responsibility with no pressure. We are an experienced team and it will be a good game.
“This team is ready to fight for titles.”
Best of luck to her and the City women!
