The deal is dead. Harry Kane took to Twitter to announce he will stay at Spurs for this season and beyond-
It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I've had in the last few weeks. ⚽

I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS pic.twitter.com/uTN78tHlk1
The saga concluded with frankly, a whimper. No juice, no real progress and perhaps worst of all, no back up plan.
Manchester City is now left scrambling as they will try maybe, to sign Cristiano Ronaldo to save face. There is also the distinct possibility that City sign no one at all.
City being so confident in this deal and pursuing no others including Leo Messi and Romelu Lukaku just baffles the mind.
What was the thought process behind this? Were they really so sure they didn't even look for an alternative? The Vlahovic deal seemed pure chatter to scare Spurs in to accepting as he was their primary if Kane left.
Now, we are left with no striker with less than a week before the window closes.
Could it be Ronaldo or bust?
We’ll find out soon.
