Manchester City and the transfer window continue entangled. Pep Guardiola took to the mics to address the window, lack of a striker and much more.
Let’s dive in-
“When we decided not to extend the contract of Sergio Aguero and people asked what we would do, I said many times it would depend on the market,” the City manager asserted.
“Maybe we will buy, maybe not. It is still the same situation.
“There are still 10, 11 days (left) in the transfer market. We are going to see what happens and it depends on that when we are going to take a decision.
“If the squad stays the same one then I am more than pleased with the team.
“I know them really well. They know me really well.
“We put incredible energy in this week to compete with the good teams in England and the good teams in Europe. We want to be there.
“The group of people are fantastic. The players are incredible quality.
“I will never complain. I have never complained since day one and I will not do it now.
“But, of course, the club has an obligation and a duty to look forward to get better and to feel we can still be in there with a tough Premier League.
“This is what we are going to do.”
Interesting thoughts, one other piece of note is it seems Liam Delap will be staying with City for this season and could see more opportunities.
We’ll see how the transfer window ends in the coming week.
