Antoine Griezmann has become the latest in s string of forwards linked to Manchester City. This time its a French report from FootMercato, who has linked City and Griez.
The often maligned forward is deemed surplus at Barcelona and as they undergo massive salary shedding, this buy could be a much smaller deal, maybe in the 40-60m range.
Barcelona’s transfers and bloated wages has caused massive headaches for Barcelona leadership and they could get rid of Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti and more on very cheap deals as they shed that salary to put in new signings and a resigning Leo Messi.
I would not mind this deal as a last option possible as Griezmann is not a ‘real’ number 9 but he can undoubtedly play. He is very good off the ball and could help in rotation especially as the revelation of Ferran Torres could see him at the 9 and Griezmann in a supporting role.
Thoughts on this potential deal?
