The Brazuilian keeper and Manchester City number one will reportedly sign an extension that keeps him at City until 2028. (h/t The Athletic)

He is already on contract through 2025 and this would keep him for 11 years tied to the club!

City are on a bit of a renewal spree with De Bruyne penning an extension and John Stones, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and even Ruben Dias in line for one soon.

Sam Lee of The Athletic theorized it could be due to a large spending spree inbound-

“Added bonus on deals like this: when a player renews their contract, the repayments on their original transfer fee gets spread out over a longer period and therefore the annual amount is lower. That reduces costs in the accounts. Could be useful in a big-spending year”

It would make plenty of sense. Ederson being kept long term is great and he is now seemingly Brazil’s number one as well so everything is coming up Ederson.

Glad to have him.
