La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are rumored to be tracking Manchester City star defender Aymeric Laporte, according to a report from Spain.

While Pep Guardiola and his men cruised to the 2020-21 PL title rumored unrest among Laporte and the press is inevitable. The former Blaugrana coach favored the defensive duo of Ruben Dias and John Stones, this has led to the downfall of Laporte in the pecking order.

According to a certain report from Caught Offside, City are fully aware of the situation that Aymeric Laporte is unsettled due to the in-form partnership of Dias and Stones and has started looking for suitors in his home country, Spain. Due to this situation, the blues will be offering a new deal to John Stones which would eventually extend his stay at the Etihad beyond 2024.

Barcelona will be looking to secure the player because of their leaky backline and Real Madrid because Sergio Ramos might be leaving the club this summer and Raphael Varane entering the final year of his contract.

City will listen to offers from around the region of £50m for Laporte according to Football Espana.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are equally in the race for the 27 year old Spanish International but it’s quite unsure who will ultimately secure his services.

Laporte has made 75 appearances in the Premier League in his City Career, in which he kept 32 Clean Sheets, scored 4 goals and has won 3 League Titles.
