Silly season continues at a roaring pace. This time it’s Sergi Roberto and Sergio Ramos.
Roberto is a new link and rumors began this week that Pep is looking for him to provide stability in midfield and defense. Sport had the report and say Pep values him highly as he can play fullback, cornerback and midfielder.
This one seems unlikely to me as Roberto is a tad injury prone and his availability this campaign was low. Add to that the price which could include Joao Cancelo going to Barca and this is very unlikely, no matter how much Pep loves him.
Ah, the dance continues with Sergio Ramos. These reports seemed to pop up out of nowhere back in January, but are really picking up steam now. Ever the hopeful, I would love this move as Ramos has what City lack, a captains attitude. So while, Ruben Dias can provide that adding another player of similar profile would be great.
Especially if City sell a midfielder/defender and the best part is Ramos would come free and at a reduced wage. Seems a win-win.
Thoughts on either player joining Manchester City?
