Manchester City have formally announced the signing of Jamaica striker Khadija Shaw on a three-year deal.
A deal weeks in the making has been completed and what a signing it is!
The 24-year-old, known as ‘Bunny’, will move to the Academy Stadium at the start of July following the conclusion of her current contract with Division 1 Feminine side Bordeaux, subject to work visa and international clearance.
A great signing and striker considered a great asset.
Shaw spoke after the move and had this to say-
“I want to be tested and there is so much experience in the team here, so I know I will learn a lot from everybody around me.
“I grew up as a City fan, and I even have some family members who live in Manchester – when I told them about my move, they were so happy and excited.
“I’ve always watched the English game and it’s something that I’ve always wanted to be a part of – the Barclays FA WSL is growing and developing tremendously, and I feel as though this is the perfect move for me.”
“The way that the club is, the style of play of the men and women is similar and it’s an environment where both teams can come together on the same level playing field. I feel very fortunate to be a part of City.”
“My Dad’s side of the family live in the Manchester and when I told them I was coming to play for City they were so excited,”
Great signing, welcome Bunny!
