No swaps for City!

Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo have been chased by Barcelona, but given their precarious financial situation wanted to do swap deals. Well, now it is known Manchester City want nothing to do with that.

From the Manchester Evening News-

“But Blues sources have moved to quash any such deals, rumours that have come in the wake of Barca picking up out-of-contract City stars Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia on free transfers.”

A bevy of players had been offered in the swaps, from Sergi Roberto to Ousmane Dembele and more.

These deals never made sense as not only is the onus on Barcelona to provide the cash and good players then you add City’s clear leverage in having the better players which makes letting them go for inferior ones a puzzling conclusion.

If City make deals it will be offloading one of these players and my money is on Silva and the Atletico Madrid deal for Saul plus cash makes the most sense.

We’ll see how Txiki, Pep and company respond.
