Cole Palmer has signed a new contract, signing an extension which will keep him at City until 2026.
The attacking midfielder, who has been part of the Academy set-up for more than a decade, made his first team debut last September in our Carabao Cup win away at Burnley.
He followed that by making his Champions League cameo as a substitute in the 3-0 group stage win at Marseille and has also featured on the bench in a number of Premier League fixtures.
Great news for fans of the academy and continuation.
Palmer had a lot to say-
“It is a very proud moment. It is a dream come true and I think my family are thrilled too,”
“Obviously when I used to go to the park with them to play football when I was little, we used to always think of moments like this, so we are very happy.
“When I first came over to the first team in June last year, it was a bit overwhelming, but I just came over with no pressure and just to play.
“I am still here so I think I have done alright!
“I have progressed pretty well because you are training with the best players every day, so you are only going to get better.
“The first-team players speak to you a lot. They give you bits of advice and tips, so it helps a lot.
“There is a lot more to come. Hopefully I will just get my chance this year and I will take it if I get it.”
