Manchester City are confident Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho will stay with the club for at least one more season.
The 36-year-old is out of contract this summer and was placed on City’s list of released players, which was published by the Premier League earlier this month. However, City have until the end of the month to finalise and confirm the list, giving both club and player time to agree a new deal.
And it is understood that City and Ferna are in talks to thrash out a new deal that could be the Brazilian stay with the blues for a ninth season.
Meanwhile, Ilkay Gundogan has been rumoured to be waiting to see if Barcelona are serious about signing him before making any decisions about his future (The Sun).
Gundo has two years left on his contract at City, but the blues have not entered into any contract talks with the German midfielder, who was City’s top scorer last season. However, City are believed to not be interested in selling Gundo despite manager Pep Guardiola looking to bring in some fresh faces at the club.
