Kevin de Bruyne and Ruben Dias have both been nominated for the 2020/21 PFA Player of the Year award.

The City duo have both enjoyed excellent seasons as City won the Premier League and League Cup, reached the semi-final of the FA Cup and were narrowly defeated n the Champions League final at the weekend.

De Bruyne will be hoping to keep hold of the award he won last year, and has been in excellent form all season despite battling injury for part of it. He provided 12 assists this season and had created 8- chances for the blues, the third best in the Premier League.

Dias has excelled in his debut season, forming a solid partnership with the rejuvenated John Stones and both were instrumental at the back as City kept the tightest defence in the league, conceding just 32 all season in the Premier League.

The Portuguese defender has already been named Football Writers Player of the Year, stating it was a ‘huge privilege’ to receive the award.

The pair are up against Bruno Fernandes, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Mason Mount, Mohamed Salah and Thomas Soucek for the award, which will be announced on Friday 4th June.
