Manchester City’s hopes of being made Premier League champions were spoiled, for now. As Pep Guardiola’s side lost a rough one 2-1 at home by Chelsea.

Pep and his men rued many chances and even a badly taken Sergio Aguero penalty added to the misery. Not much went right for the sky blues.

We move, on to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“In general, the performance was good,”

“We are sad because we lose - we wanted to close the Premier League today - but we have to be focused. Football is unpredictable and we have to focus on the game at Newcastle.

“I will not start thinking about the action and another one and another. It will never end. Everyone made a good contribution and we were incredibly focused.

“If he scores you would say he is a genius. I say to the players to take one decision. Panenka, right, left. Pick one.

“He is a sensible guy, we are not going to talk about what Sergio has done for all the period he has been here.

“He took the decision, no one expect it, but if he was convinced, do it. If he thinks that’s best, the taker has responsibility.”

“We have 21 days [before the final], he said

“We will see what happens in the final. It’s a different competition, we are going to try to play this game, we will analyse and play the final, which is a dream come true for us.

“Chelsea have been there many times, it’s the first time we will be there.

“We are going to approach it in the best way possible.

“All I can say is congratulations Chelsea for the victory.

“We will go to Newcastle and try to win the Premier League. If not to Brighton, if not against Everton and then after we will go and prepare the final against them.”
