Preview — Form Guide

Manchester City come into the game on the back of a triumphant 5-0 win over Everton on the final day of the Premier League season and have won seven of the last 10 games in all competitions.

City reached the final following a 4-1 aggregate victory over Paris Saint-Germain, performing admirably in what was a stunning come back to win 2-1 in the first leg in the French capital before finishing the job with an impressive 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea earned their place in the Champions League next season with a fourth place finish in the Premier League, despite losing 2-1 to Aston Villa in their final game of the season.

That was their third defeat in four matches in all competitions, which included losing a final, the FA Cup, against Leicester City. The West London outfit having won five of their previous 10 fixtures ahead of Saturday’s meeting.

Tuchel’s side beat Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate to reach the final, following up a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Spain with a convincing 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

In the last meeting, Chelsea won 2-1 at the Etihad around three weeks ago to delay City’s title celebrations.

Raheem Sterling gave the home side the lead in the 44th minute and Sergio Aguero missed a golden opportunity to extend our lead before the break when his Panenka penalty was saved by Edouard Mendy.

Add a loss in the FA Cup semi-final and some have wondered if Tuchel has Pep’s number. However, it is incredibly difficult to beat a team three times in such a short amount of time. There is also the belief that City were far from full strength on both occasions so Saturday’s match will be a fresh experience for most. What a match to do it as both sides are at full strength. We are in for a spectacular match, atmosphere and much more.

It should be a great match. Pep Guardiola vs Thomas Tuchel. City v Chelsea. Kante v KDB.

Here we go!
