Sander Berge of Sheffield United is the latest midfielder to be linked to Manchester City. This one out of Voetbal24, who reported interest by City in Berge. Ideally he would be replacing the departing Fernandinho.
The midfielder is of a similar mold, hard nosed, no nonsense, destroyer type and he would fit in that space. A huge plus seems to be the price, rumored at £18-20m, which would make him very feasible if City are to splurge heavy money on a star striker as is presumed.
Berge has impressed at Sheffield despite their tumultuous season and last season was a big part of Sheffield reaching the top half of the Premier League table.
The team’s form this campaign has been bad, but Berge remains a mainstay and has played well comparatively.
I think this would be a good move, especially if City plan that huge summer signing also.
Thoughts on this potential signing?
