Pep Guardiola press conferences are back! The Catalan manager spoke about a variety of thing, from Leicester match, injuries, tactics and even some Sergio Aguero talk.

Let’s dive in-

“Leicester is a top class team - they can beat us. The depth of their squad... I am impressed,” the boss asserted.

“We will be closer to winning the title if we win and then every game after that is a final. The team will feel that, and we are ready to try it.

“People say we are close. The champions are Liverpool. We are in the best position. But United and Leicester can win a lot of games.

“Everything in football can happen. We need more than four wins to be champions and tomorrow is the first one, we will try. After that game I will think of Borussia Dortmund.”

“Kelechi Iheanacho is Incredible. The quality was there, he was a young player at Man City and I think with Gabriel we didn’t have enough space. He is a fantastic person, we had a good relationship, and I’m glad to see him playing well...”

“Liam is training with us this season; like with Jadon [Sancho] but Jadon didn’t accept to sign a contract. Many players are training with us and Liam is doing really well... He is training and next season he’ll be training with us every day...

“Leicester can play in different ways four in back. Five, one striker, two strikers. They can play good build up because of the keeper. People in between like Tielemans and Maddison - they have the quality,” the boss added.

“They can play in different ways. Brendan knows the team and the mood and momentum today decide what they are going to do. We have to adapt.

“You see all the players, they have quality. Ndidi is going well, Tielemans is a top-class player. I remember when Vincent Kompany started talking about how good he was. Vincent as always was right. Top players with quality.

“They continue to build a team. I have admiration for all the clubs. They have been doing really well for a long time.”

The boss also revealed that his international contingent had all come back fit from the World Cup qualifiers.

“Everyone is fit, the COVID-19 tests are negative and tomorrow we will prepare for the gam,” he added.

Interesting points. Pep is clearly well prepared for the return of domestic action. Delap being a regular at training should also be great for him and depth at City. That should be enough to tame this Leicester monster. On Iheanacho he was surprisingly positive, we’ll see how that impacts the match. Pep should have a clear idea of how to play the Foxes after this press conference.
