Oleks Zinchenko is confident City will learn the lessons impounded on them from a frustrating derby defeat to United and look to come back even stronger.

The remarkable run of 21 straight wins and 28 games unbeaten in all competitions came to an end as United took the derby 2-0 at the Etihad.

Reflecting on the result, Zinchenko said the City players would truly analyse and learn the lessons.

“To concede the goal in the first minute is not easy – but we controlled the game and created chances to win the game, but we didn’t score,” Zinchenko reflected.

“We have to learn how to come back from this situation. We will analyse the game and I am pretty sure we can come back stronger.

“We are still playing in all competitions and we want to win all four. This can be a signal for us to be more focused.”

If nothing else, it is a positive to see the players know they need to have a better idea going in to match and be surer finishers. Hopefully, a performance like that does not rear its head again this season.
