Manchester City’s unbeaten run stretched to a Club record equaling 28 games. City eased to a comfortable 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers to stay at top position on the Premier League.

A fantastic game plan by Pep and great players helped make it 21 straight wins for City.

A win and we move. On to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“The last games were outstanding. He played really well. He has a special quality,”

“He is a guy who dances on the pitch. He doesn’t lose balls on the pitch. He makes the extra pass. He attracts opponents on the pitch and after he makes a pass in behind.

“He makes fantastic crosses. We knew it.

“At Leicester, he was outstanding with Jamie Vardy. That’s why we pushed for him. We hope he can continue.”

“We reacted well. Not just right after to concede the goal. We have to be better. In knockout games you have to be stable,”

“We created incredible chances before the 1-1. It is a good lesson for the knockout stages because the opponents at a high level, don’t need much to punish you.

“To finish the way we did at the end is a really good night for us.

“I said after the last game against West Ham, when you win 21 games, you don’t always win 5-0 and everything is perfect. Every team creates a lot of problems in different ways.

“You cannot imagine how happy we are when Gabriel can score the goals he has scored,” said Pep.

“But it is the things he does for the team that people don’t realise he does.

“That’s why the striker has to score and today he scored two. He helps us with his pressing and he is a joyous guy.

“We know he is not in the statistical highlights, but what he does is amazing.

“Today he scored two goals for the team.

“Strikers live for the goal. But how many assists has he done? He was brilliant, like he has been all season.”
