Nuno Mendes, the Portuguese fullback turning heads in football circles. He is now being heavily linked with Manchester CIty and could even be used as a piece in City loanee’s final deal with Sporting. Pedro Porro, playing fullback for Sporting has shined in a loan from City and the Portuguese team wants to keep him.
Initial rumors peg the deal for Porro as 8m Euros. So, according to reports today, a deal could be struck with Porro staying and Mendes leaving for a 25-30m Euros price. That way Porro stays where has played extremely well and Mendes gets his big club move.
It could be ideal as several big clubs chase the young fullback, notably Juventus and Real Madrid. Wrapping this deal up sooner rather than later would be great.
That would then make City’s interest in 3 players as the most likely to get done as the club chase Erling Haaland with vigor and still remain heavily interested in Denis Zakaria.
All three would make for a perfect summer. Mendes has shown class and poise even earning a call up to the full fledged international side, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo and company.
A good player at a good price. City needs to get this done while the interest is still hot.
Thoughts on Mendes?
