The title challenge is alive and well for Manchester City.

Thanks to first half goals from Caroline Weir and Ellen White and a late Sam Mewis header were enough to see City best Bristol City and earn a tenth successive victory in the Women’s Super League.

Gareth Taylor’s side looked up to task and can credit a phenomenal run of form to the players.

Mewis made it three in the 89th minute, heading in a goal after Janine Beckie had forced a save from the Bristol keeper.

On top of reaching a memorable milestone, the three points more importantly keeps City in the thick of things and close to league leaders Chelsea, as the title race continues to take turns.

A win, clean sheet and we move. On to the reaction-

Gareth Taylor Reaction

“We’re never satisfied, we always want to improve, we always want to work hard on the training pitches, these girls work tremendously hard.

“To get ourselves to this point where we are in the season with five games to go, ten games on the bounce, it’s superb and we want to keep it going.

“Clean sheets and a 3-0 away victory is great but there’ll always be areas we can improve on, both as individuals and certainly as a team.”

“I’m super pleased. At this stage of the season, that’s a really big three points for us.

“I thought we scored some good goals in the first half, good quality from our forward play, and then in the second half we had good chances.

“I think 3-0 is a really good result at this stage of the season.”

“Fair play to them, even at 3-0 they still made it difficult for us. They had a right good go.”
