Ilkay Gundogan has been enjoying his football. For this Manchester City side all cylinders have been clicking and now he has been named February’s Premier League Player of the Month. His second in a row.

The German midfielder also won January’s prize and continued his spectacular form with a series of impressive performances to become the first City player to receive the award in consecutive months.

Gundogan was again one of City’s star in form players as Pep Guardiola’s side won all six Premier League games, scoring four goals and providing one assist in his five appearances.

Speaking about the award, Gundogan was pleased-

“I am very proud to win this award again – but I am most proud of being part of this amazing team,” he said.

“To win all our games in February, like we did in January, is amazing. I get the sense we are playing really good football and being part of that makes me happy.

“Hopefully we can continue like this because, ultimately, winning trophies is what matters. I know all the squad want that to happen and we will try our best from now until the end of the season.”

Gundogan beat Joao Cancelo, Joachim Andersen (Fulham), Harvey Barnes (Leicester), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Jesse Lingard (West Ham United), Ruben Neves (Wolves) and Raphinha (Leeds United) to February’s prize.

“Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Ilkay on his award and wishes him the best of luck for the rest of the season.”

Now to start winning titles!
