Manchester City came roaring back from Sunday’s derby defeat in emphatic fashion with a scintillating 5-2 victory over Southampton.

The Saints came to play football and played their part in a match that was packed with goals, incidents and talking points. Chaos and mayhem reigned.

The victory restores City’s 14-point lead at the top with nine games remaining.

A great get right match and we move.

On to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“Tough game. The team that makes us suffer the most this season, without the ball they have a process to press incredibly well. After two shots on target we scored two goals. In the first-half, Jon knows, the VAR did the rest. Second half we were much better...”

“Unfortunately at 4-1 they scored the second, and we have to avoid it but in general, another victory, Fulham. Today the quality of our players won the game. This game belongs to the players, Riyad, Phil, Kevin, they won the game.”

“We arrive in the right time of the season with not many games, the players who help me a lot of the season I will rotate less and the players who think about the clubs and the team. The rest will be on the bench.”

“I am proud because at this club, I don’t know another one, but in this club what we have done in the last decade and in the last years, we did it by ourselves. That’s for sure.”

“Riyad, Kevin, Phil made the difference today. You didn’t believe me when I said the reason why we won is because we have a lot of money to buy a lot of players - but it is the truth and today proved how right I was.”
