John Stones is confident in Manchester City’s chances of claiming one and maybe more titles.
The resurgence of Stones has been a welcome story for all City fans. He recently spoke about that, title hopes and much more.
Let’s dive in-
“Silverware has to be our target,” he said.
“It’s such a high bar we’ve set because of previous seasons. We won everything one season bar the Champions League.
“We want the Premier League back in Manchester.
“These things we’ve done in the past and replicated, we have to get back to that bar we’ve set so high.
“Do it for the fans who can’t be there to watch us – they are the things in our mind, definitely.
“It’s definitely a big game – we all know that as players and fans of football. We’ve had some big games which maybe on paper don’t look like big games.
“When attackers have got pace and movement and strength, it does cause problems and that’s when all our hard work and training comes into play – and our own attributes.
“We’re there to defend against them and we thrive off that. It’s what we are there to do. I look forward to these games, testing yourself against top players.
“It’ll be an exciting open, especially for us going into to it. The importance of it brings added pressure - not too much – but the pressure of making another step forward. Definitely excited!”
A confident Stones is money for the club and hopeful that streak and great defending continues on to the match with Liverpool.
