Joao Cancelo is an invaluable asset to this Manchester City side. He has been a real revelation to help this team to 19 straight victories.

He has done things you don’t expect. Like a full back to slide in the center of the pitch and get shots off from the edge of the box.

He creates and overloads and can defend decently, too. He has been responsible for some smashing assists and goals over this 19 match run.

Thanks to Pep, he has become a Phillip Lahm, Dani Alves type jack of all trades. When Pep has one of those that means Pep’s team is really firing on all cylinders.

Could it be just from Pep’s instruction or is it the player? It’s both. A willingness to be coached and great tactical setup by Pep has proved a real winner, but Joao still has to out on the pitch and demonstrate it.
