Manchester City scored at the start of the match thanks to a fabulous Raheem Sterling header and saw the result off with a great performance.
Let’s take a look at some ratings for the players and feel free to add yours in the comments.
Manchester City ratings
Ederson: 7 – Classic bored Ederson match and other than a fantastic line breaking pass and a somewhat bad volley had little else to do.
Joao Cancelo: 8 – Great defensively and made runs up and down as well as playing inside. Workman like by Joao.
John Stones: 9 – Great match as he stopped Arsenal forwards and bodied others in way to a clean sheet,
Ruben Dias: 9 – Captain like for him. Played well when needed and was an authoritative voice in the back.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: 8 – Played well as he was barely noticed and held his own vs Arsenal wingers,
Fernandinho: 9 – Controlled the midfield and was a leader on the pitch and that included some great tackles.
Ilkay Gundogan: 7 –Not his best match, but worked hard and had some chances when going forward.
Bernardo Silva: 6.5 – Felt a tad slow, but made key passes and held his own.
Riyad Mahrez: 8 – Assist plus playing with much flair and pizazz. If not for some untimely shots maybe man of the match.
Kevin de Bruyne: 7 – Played well in his 60 minutes given. Bit of rust, but is getting back in to shape and will be better.
Raheem Sterling: 9 – Man of the match here as he scored almost immediately after jumping nearly out of his boots. Was dynamic and kept defense on their toes.
Substitutions
Gabriel Jesus (63′ on for De Bruyne): 7 – Played good enough, no mistakes and other than one badly missed shot played decent.
