Manchester City have kept Ellie Roebuck and will see her extend her stay until 2024.
The English national team keeper won the inaugural FA Women’s Super League Golden Glove award before helping Gareth Taylor’s side to defend the FA Cup in November 2020.
The young star is also now an established England international who recently earned a prestigious nomination for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, shortlisted in a star-studded line-up alongside Ann-Katrin Berger, Sarah Bouhaddi, Christiane Endler, Hedvig Lindahl and Alyssa Naeher.
A well deserved extension.
Roebuck spoke after this momentous occasion-
“I’m delighted to have signed a new deal,” she declared. “It’s really exciting to know that my future lies at City for the next three years – my time here so far has flown by and I can’t wait for what is to come.
“Signing a three-year deal too is something that’s a massive boost – the Club have shown their faith in me, which is amazing.
“City is the place I want to be – it’s where I see myself developing as a player, so I’m very happy to have it all sorted.”
Great piece of business for Man City. Keeping your stars is hard and seeing City do this will only increase hope for a couple of titles this season.
