Claim there is no such offer.

Manchester City have categorically denied they’ve offered Lionel Messi a contract worth £430m over five years. New reports yesterday evening claimed that City had an offer in hand for him and claim that talks have yet to open in their chase for the superstar who can sign anywhere on a free transfer this summer.

It seems City are going to wait f Messi to decide to leave before putting on a full press to acquire him.

Reported yesterday was he is seen as closer to City, so make of that what you will.

I get the frustration then, that City executives have as this could be seen as tampering.

The smart thing to do is to wait and see if Messi leaves on his own volition. That way everyone is happy with a clean break at Barcelona or he stays with a new president and Xavi returning as manager. Either way we should get closure on this wild ride before this summer window opens.
