Manchester City’s Rose Lavelle and Caroline Weir both found goals for their respected national teams on international duty.
The USA beat Canada 1-0 in Orlando to start the SheBelieves Cup with a hard-fought victory.
Abby Dahlkemper started for the States, as did Janine Beckie for the Canadians.
Former City forward Carli Lloyd nearly scored as well. It was a great for the Americans and a frustrating one for the Canadians.
The USWNT now has a long unbeaten streak extended and are playing well enough to be odds on favorites to lift the SheBelieves Cup.
For Scotland, Weir and her mates beat Cyprus 10-0 away from home in EURO 2022 qualifying.
Weir scored at 25 minutes in, as she added the Scots’ third of the afternoon after she completed a great solo run into the box with an class finish over the Cypriot goalkeeper.
All in all a great day for the international women star at Manchester City.
