Manchester City’s pursuit of the Norwegian striker is ramping up. For Erling Haaland, Man City are “willing to go above his £65M buyout clause [active in 2022]. The 15% sell-on clause on Jadon Sancho could be waived/negotiated to gain an advantage in the Haaland pursuit.”
City of course sold Sancho to Dortmund and that clause could be worth up to 20 million euros.

That according to David McDonnell of the Daily Mirror. It would be a great deal for all. Dortmund get a full fee for Sancho and City get their man in Haaland. Other reports had pegged Haaland’s price this summer in the 80-100 million euros range. It will depend on how starved Dortmund will be for money as a big revenue source is qualifying for UCL and they are out of that right now in the Bundesliga.
Missing out could harm them severely. Dortmund have said they plan to part with some players anyway, but Haaland could leave as soon as this summer bearing results.
Thoughts on this deal?
