Manchester City face Everton in the last match to be made up for the Cityzens. Pep Guardiola held his usual pre match press conference and had a lot to say.

From injuries, rotations, defensive selections and the Everton match, there is a lot he discussed.

Let’s get to it-

“You never get perfection,” he said. “What we have done winning 16 in a row is a consequence of preparing as best as possible for the next game.

“Two months ago we were not in the thoughts of any person in world football about winning the Premier League. A lot of things can still happen.

“All that is in my head is Everton.

“We will drop points, for sure. That is the moment I am expecting a reaction from all of us.”

“I try to involve all the players,” he said. “I rotate all the players.

“It’s the only chance we have to win all the competitions. We need everyone.

“In these two games [Everton and Arsenal], I will try and play as many players as possible, not for Borussia Monchengladbach, but because I love all my players.”

“[He’s] getting better,” said the manager at his pre-match press conference.

“Really getting better. Today he did all training with the group, with all of us. He’s much better.

On Gundogan, he added: “Gundo is much better, but I don’t think is available for tomorrow.”

“Sergio is one year injured so cannot start from the beginning,” added Guardiola.

“But he is ready to come back. He was on the bench last game and will be again.

“The rest of the players are OK, except Nathan Ake.”

“Always I have headache to choose the best XI,” he said ahead of City’s trip to Everton. “For sure.

“But it isn’t just about the back four. Last two games, Aymer [Laporte] was brilliant and especially John and Ruben were outstanding, but Joao [Cancelo] and [Benjamin] Mendy when he plays in the cup and Oleks [Zinchenko] and Kyle [Kyle Walker]. Everybody is doing well.

“Our secret it to be consistent and have a good game plan, try to attack as much as possible and try to win games.”

Rotation could be an issue, but the team gets along so well I doubt any bad blood will be had from it. Players want to play and Pep has managed it almost perfectly all season. Even the injuries have not played a huge role in City’s results.

On to Everton a match where City can only gain.
