Phil Foden has really come in to his own and was very happy City’s complete display during the comfortable 2-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
He spoke after on how he felt the team did and much more-
“I think we had the game of our lives today,” he said. “Everything went right for us. We dominated the match from start to finish which is really good.
“It was the possession and picking the right times to hurt them. I’m really pleased.
“Me and Gabby [Jesus] got told to press their wingbacks. Then we had Bernardo [Silva] and Kevin [De Bruyne] pressing high too, so yeah it worked.
“We knew we could exploit the space in behind, we picked the right times to do it. On another day, I could have finished my chance.”
“It was very important to get back to winning ways in the league today,” he said. “United are a great team and a difficult team to play against, we showed our class today.
“As a Manchester boy it was really special to win this game. This gives us massive confidence now going into the internationals, so I’m really, really delighted.”
Foden’s been on another level and today he showed some of that. Let’s hope it continues.
