Pep Talk: “Always, even if you are winning many games in a row, you can improve.”

A great preview to the derby as the Catalan manager speaks.

Pep Guardiola is roaring to go vs Manchester United as he spoke prior to the match. On today’s press avail he spoke about injuries, keeping the tempo up, winning and the impact on the game and much more...

Let’s dive in-

(Injury update, Walker) “Right now, I don’t know. We have training in a few hours and we will know it. Right now I don’t know.”

“Always, even if you are winning many games in a row, you can improve. We will try to continue in this way.”

(On confidence after Brugge) “When you don’t score goals it is ‘be calm for the next one’. When you score it is ‘be calm’ for the next one. In three days we don’t need a striker and then after that we need to buy seven strikers. We need to be calm and go out and do our game.”

“We did good games against them (United), maybe not a good result, except one game last season which was a little bit boring... In general, we played good games. We were ourselves when we played them. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.”

Pep Guardiola on whether the Manchester derby is City’s biggest game: “I don’t think so, but maybe for some people. It’s special for the city, the people and the sentiment, but it’s not the final.”

“We know the quality, try to make a good game. We knew ourselves, sometimes win, sometimes lose...”

“One day, we might buy a striker and he doesn’t score...”

“When you don’t score, be calm. When you do, be calm. For the last three days, we don’t need a striker. After that [if we fail to score], we have to buy seven [strikers]...”

A feisty Pep as striker questions continue to linger. The derby not being City’s most important game is interesting as well. Wonder what he thinks it is.

Anyway, City should be more than ready for the derby!
