Manchester City made it a good win as they emerged victorious over Burnley. Goals from Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne gave Manchester City a deserved victory.

Pep Guardiola’s side were clearly better throughout the contest and opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Nick Pope pushed Phil Foden’s drive from the edge of the area into the path of Bernardo, who lashed home from two yards.

De Bruyne added a second and City won without too much stress. A win, clean sheet and we move.

On to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“Nathan is an alternative (at left-back). He is not a left-back to do overlaps…he is not just this type of guy,” Guardiola stressed at his post-match press conference.

“But he is so focused, so concentrated. He is an intelligent guy and on Saturday our build-up was with three at the back with Aymer more in the centre and John more on the right. It suited us perfectly.

“He is growing incredibly fast and well as a keeper working alongside Xabi Mancisidor and Richard [Wright],” the City boss said at his post-match press conference.

“He is a much better keeper than when he arrived because we have maybe the best keeper trainer in the world.

“We have incredible confidence in him because the moments he has to save the ball he does. We are delighted with him.”

“He is in incredibly good form alongside Rodri and both played so well the last four or five games,” said Pep.

“He is at the level of the second season when we won with 98 points and he was out of this world.

“He is at the same level now. He is so intuitive; he always gives us the extra ball that we need.

“Today he scored a goal, that’s important for him. The performance of Bernardo has been extraordinary again.”

“We are so lucky to have him. He was an incredible signing for us.

“All I want is his happiness. He deserves the best. He is a joy to have as manager. When he doesn’t play he always tries to do his best.

“He is at his best level right now.”
