Pep Guardio0la knows how good this Manchester City side is. Speaking prior to another midweek Premier League game, Pep touched a variety of topics. From what the turning point match was this season to West Brom and Big Sam.
Let’s dive in-
“The results give you an incredible confidence boost,” he said.
“Do results make you play good or does playing good make you gets results? Both are connected.
“But we are in January. We play West Brom and we see what they have done and we try to make a good game and get another victory.”
“The leader is United. They are top of the league,” he said.
“When we have played the same games, we will see.
“But the distance between top teams is so narrow.
“I don’t watch the table much. I didn’t when we were 12th, eight points behind. Now is the same.”
“We won the next game at Southampton. That was one of the turning points.
“It was difficult and at that moment Southampton were in top form. We were able to beat them and then we started the process of playing better.
“We were far away from the top of the league, but then we started getting closer, training better, sleeping better.”
“We had chances to win that game but the way we played was not good in that time,” he added at his pre-match press conference.
“We have to play better.
“I know how good Sam Allardyce teams are on set-pieces. They will have worked this week on that to see how they can hurt us, but we have to discover the weak points they may have and impose our game.
“Today our training session was very good. I am optimistic to take a bus tomorrow to West Bromwich and do a good game.”
Interesting comments. Pep v Big Sam will be a fun match.
