Manchester City Women midfielder Jill Scott has joined WSL rivals Everton on loan until the end of the season.

Scott extended her contract with City during the summer of 2020, but has only started twice so far this season due to the arrivals of Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis, and it is believed she wanted to play more to increase her chances of playing at the Olympic Games.

Manager Gareth Taylor acknowledged Scott’s role at City, but also her desire to play. “She’s an important figure at Manchester City, but we understand her desire to play on a more regular basis this year and wish her well in that quest.”

Scott joined City from Everton in 2013 and has made 129 appearances for the blues, scoring 24 goals. The midfielder has also earned 149 caps for England, scoring 25 goals and was awarded an MBE in the 2020 New Years Honours list for services to football.
