Manchester City FC have confirmed via press release that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19.

Both players are currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus.

It is some concerning news and the speculation is they could play against Wolves next week. It does seem fairly recent because with a mandatory 14 days isolation, it could be tricky to play in the first game back.

We will have to wait and see how City can cope without the two as they are important parts of Pep Guardiola’s side.
