Preview

It’s been a successful week for City, who are 1 for 1 and sport a 100% record after winning 3-1 against Wolves in the opener.

Since the Premier League restart in June, Man City has won 11 of 15 matches in all competitions.

The Cherries are two games into their league game campaign and beat Blackburn Rovers 3-2 after their opening day 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

They reached the third round having got the better of Crystal Palace in a penalty shootout. Following a 0-0 draw, the Championship outfit prevailed 11-10 in the shootout.

Team News

Sergio Aguero (knee) and Ilkay Gudnogan (COVID-19) will both miss the game. It remains to be seen whether Aymeric Laporte will be fit enough after recovering from the virus.

Bernardo Silva, Oleksandr Zinchenko (both muscular), Joao Cancelo (foot) and Eric Garcia (head) will also be unavailable.

Bournemouth have no injuries reported.

Prediction

An academy based side could complicate things for Manchester City. Still, the skill should set them apart in the final third and get them a win by a narrow margin.
