Manchester City’s best 45 minutes in months helped start the new season with a 3-1 win at Wolves.
Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden put a fantastic City side two goals up at the break.
A feisty Wolves would come alive in the second half, but it would prove to be too late. Later, Gabriel Jesus wrapped up the points with the last kick of the game.
A grrreat start to the season!
On to the reaction-
Pep Guardiola Reaction
“ I’m very pleased with the performance and the way we played at one of the most difficult stadiums in the Premier League. All the team was really good, especially in the first half. John and Ake were so good. “
“I’m delighted, I don’t have a nice smile, that’s all. I am incredibly happy, it’s just the reality right now and we have to be calm.”
“All we want is the seven players who are out to come back. Against Bournemouth we will play mostly players in the Academy and try to keep energy in the Premier League. We have to keep the players who played today as fresh as possible.”
“Since we came back, not just today. Every training session Kevin is incredibly committed. He is a very important player for us. Always he is, but in this situation. He took an incredible penalty, did it perfectly. He played really well, like all the team.”
“It was 114 points to play for, now it’s 111 points!”
“People are suffering all around the world (with Covid-19). Aymeric and Riyad have had it and now Ilkay. I think he feels quite well but he must stay at home. We have to be alert in our private lives. We are no different to any other human beings.”
Kevin De Bruyne Reaction
