Could the defender join the red side in Manchester?

Kalidou Koulibaly. The transfer merry go round goes and goes. The two newest updates are that City’s latest €60m plus add ons and bonuses was rejected. The development is that City might pursue elsewhere if Napoli’s leadership stick to their guns as they a re demanding €80m square plus possible bonuses. The quote bandying around is ‘if Napoli do not lower their demands, Manchester City will go no further’.

The other update is that now City have competition from Manchester United for Kalidou. Il Mattino in Italy reported explaining that Fali Ramadani, the defender’s agent, has let Napoli know ‘there is no longer only Manchester City but there is also Manchester United’.

This is a new development, especially since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have long been admirers of the centre-back, but appeared to punt on adding a defender this window while sorting out more attacking matters at Old Trafford.

No one is willing to pony up the 80 Napoli want so that means either more waiting or Man City will rightfully look elsewhere.
