Celebrating 12 Years Since Manchester City’s Takeover

On this day in 2008 it was announced that the Abu Dhabi United Group had agreed to takeover Manchester City.

It is perhaps the most significant moments in the Club’s long and rich history, the move proved to be the catalyst for a record period of success.

In the 12 years since, the men’s first team have won every major competition in English football, claiming 14 trophies and becoming the first side to win all four domestic honours in a single season.

The takeover also led to the relaunch of our women’s first team in 2014 and we have since established ourselves as one of the leading clubs in the country by winning six trophies in as many years.
