Manchester City are rumored to be in the process of ‘moving’ to trigger the clause which allows them to sign Douglas Luiz back from Aston Villa for £25m.
From Globo Esporte, the report also stated it could be because City will not add another midfielder and they are comfortable with Luiz performances at Aston Villa.
If true, I would welcome his signing. He could fill a traditional ‘6’ role for City and even partner with Rodirgo or Ilkay Gundogan. If anything he will be a useful utility piece.
A solid signing for depth purposes and one that would allow full focus on assuring a Cb and/or striker. Or even, Lionel Messi.
We’ll have to wait and see how this turns out.
Thoughts on a potential Douglas Luiz return?
