Kevin De Bruyne has equaled Thierry Henry’s 17 year standing Premier League assist record for a single season.

The Belgian set up his 20th goal of the campaign in the final league game of the season against Norwich, drawing level with Henry’s record set in 2002-03.

De Bruyne has also won the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award for the second time in three years.

He is the first player to register 15+ assists in three separate Premier League seasons and is the fastest player to reach 50 assists in the league’s history.

Kevin said-

“It’s obviously a nice achievement but I only do half the job,” De Bruyne reflected.

“I’m very grateful to my teammates for the way they finish off the chances. Without them I wouldn’t have got that many assists.”
