The race in the women's game is heating up!
Manchester City could add their name to the world’s elite as they are on the verge of signing two USWNT stars. Of course, the U.S. women are World Champions and benefit from some of the best players on the planet.
From the report, Sam Mewis has signed with City and Rose Lavelle is ‘weighing an offer’ from Manchester City Women. (h/t Meg Linehan/The Athletic).
The report also states the deals would be for one year and could be extended next summer.
Mewis is a solid midfielder with already 3 championships in the NWSL. Lavelle is perhaps the best midfielder on the planet and winner of the Bronze Ball at the 2019 World Cup.
It’s safe to say these would be huge signings as City look to conquer Europe after a disappointing exit last season. And this is how you do it, by bringing in world class level players.
What are your thoughts on the deals?
